Omya Ltd has purchased Lafarge Redland Industrial Minerals, a division of Lafarge Redland Aggregates, for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition consolidates Omya UK's position as a major supplier of industrial minerals and specialty chemicals to a variety of manufacturing industries. The deal will strengthen the company's presence in key market areas and complements existing manufacturing and distribution operations. Lindsay Watson, Omya UK's sales and marketing director, also believes that the needs of customers will be more effectively fulfilled as a wider choice of material can be obtained from one source.
