India - Soda Ash Prices Steadying

Soda ash prices in India are likely to remain steady in the short-term. Trade Ministry authorities have recommended preliminary anti-dumping duties on certain soda ash imports from the US, Japan, France, Iran and Saudi Arabia, a move which could result in domestic prices finding some support. Recent trends suggest that soda ash prices are steadying. The average price in late November 2000 was around Rs 550/50kg, which was around 6% up on 1999 prices.
