[India] Shashwat Refractory Plant Expansions

Shashwat International Ltd of Mumbai, India is planning to increase production capacity at its two operating subsidiaries, Orind Bengal & Orind West Coast. The planned expansion at Bengal would increase capacity by 44,000/tpa shaped refractories & 21,000/tpa unshaped refractories. Total capacity of the plant would increase to 73,000/tpa (shaped) & 27,000/tpa (unshaped) by December 2006. The estimated cost is in the region of US$ 9M. The expansion plan for Orind West coast would increase capacity by 40,000/tpa of shaped refractories & 14,6000/tpa unshaped refractories with total capacity of this plant increasing to 77,000/tpa (shaped) & 23,000/tpa (unshaped) refractories. The estimated cost of expansion for Orind West Coast is around US$10.2M.
