[India] Hngi - Expanding Container Capacity And Setting Up New Float-Glass Plant

Hindustan National Glass and Industries (HNGIL), the country's biggest manufacturer of container glass, is set to invest Rs300-400 Crore over the next two years to ramp up its capacity to over 3,700/tpd from the present 2,750/tpd across six sites. The Kolkata-headquartered HNGIL, the flagship company of CK Somany Group, has also diversified into float-glass manufacturing to make products for the automotive and construction industries. It is setting up a 600/tpd float glass unit at Halol, Gujarat, at an investment of around Rs 600 Crore. This new plant is expected to be commissioned over the next few months.
