Hindusthan National Glass Ind (HNG) of India has selected Emhart Glass as its supplier for a major greenfield development at Naidu Peta, as well as for an extension of its Nashik plant. The plant's flint glass line will have a daily capacity of 700/t. Emhart will contribute four 4 and a quarter-inch triple gob 12 section AIS machines, as well as two BIS machines which, it claims, represents a new concept in glassmaking. The supplier is also providing machines and equipment for HNG's expansion project at Nashik in Maharashta, where a second furnace of 700/t capacity is now being built. The Nashik factory was acquired in 2005 and currently operates one furnace and four manufacturing lines with installed capacity of 390/tpd. The total value of the two contracts is worth around 29M Euros. Both projects will begin production during the first quarter of 2012.
