[India] Hindustan To Invest In New Production Site

Attracted by incentives offered by the State Government, Hindustan National Glass & Ind Ltd has announced its intentions to set up a state-of-the-art glass manufacturing complex at Naidupet, in the Nellore district of India. Company joint MD Mukul Somany said that the company would set up a 'mega manufacturing complex' to produce container glass as well as float glass, involving an investment of Rs 1,000 crore. He also proposed to create a 'Glass Complex' for container glass production with an investment of Rs 480 crore where construction will commence by April 2010 & will be completed by mid-2012. Construction of the 600/tpd float glass plant will commence in early 2012 & will be completed by 2014, while construction of the container glass plant will start by 2014 & production will commence in mid-2016. The container glass plant will, in the first phase, manufacture 450 tons per day of container glass and provide direct and indirect employment for 1,500 people.
