[India] Coir Fibre Glass Composite

The Coir Board has entered into an agreement with RV-TIFAC of Bangalore to develop a timber substitute using coir (a coarse fibre from the outer shell of a coconut) and glass fibre. The material can be used for doors, floors, ceilings and panels. The Central Coir Research Institute has developed a bacterial mixture in liquid for retting of coir fibre in 3 days, which is expected to cut pollution.
