Demaglass Technology has developed the Dema PTB (One Press Mould Two Blow Moulds), an independent section tableware machine. The device is intended to provide a flexible machine which can be used as a single unit or as a cascadable, multi-section, high-output machine. Designed to fulfil the requirements of both large and small glass tableware manufacturers, the Dema PTB is currently in use at the company's sister operation, Demaglass Tableware, as a sampling and development tool. Working alongside the existing press-blow processes, the PTB uses gobs from the machine and produces articles of up to 102mm in diameter and 254mm in length. It can also be used for small scale pressed ware production. Following successful trials of the machine, multi-section trials are planned for the near future, followed by single piece stemware trials. (whole item)
