IWSR research commissioned by Vinexpo predicts by 2019 a 1.4% volume increase in world wine consumption and a spirits increase of 2.8%. Vinexpo CEO Guillaume Deglise said the global wine market between 2013-14 slowed by 1.5% to 2.6bn 9-litre cases. Sparkling wine, which accounts for 8% of the total, is forecast to rise by 7.4%. Rose, accounting for 9% of all still wines, is set to grow by 2.2% and premium still light wines will rise by 12% by 2019. Global volumes for spirits reached 3.07bn cases in 2015. Between 2010-14, growth had been 8.6%. The five fastest-growing spirits markets in 2014 (compared to 2013 by volume) were: China, the US, India, Angola and Kenya.
