Importance Of Ionization Damage To Nuclear Waste Storage In Glass

A quantitative comparison of the response of nuclear waste glass to previously reported electron, gamma, and heavy ion irradiations has revealed the importance of ionisation events and the limited role of displacement events in the formation of damage.
