The Impact Of Glass On The Future Of Packaging And Package Design

This article is based on an address delivered at InterBev 98 in October, 1998. In it the author (President of RevTech - Revlon Technologies) examines the excellent qualities glass has and looks at the way in which it can heighten quality image. Also described is a new glass decorating technology called Envirogluv. Envirogluv is a patented and proprietary process that enables the decoration of glass bottles with nontoxic, non-heavy metal polymer inks and hot stamping. The inks come in vibrant colours that are cured almost instantly to glass bottles with UV light and the company is now offering to license this technology to glass container manufacturers and to users of glass packaging.
