Icg Summer School

Based on a very successful ICG summer school in May/09, the ICG is arranging a second event entitled: Glass - The Fourth State of Matter? The course will take place 26-30 July 2010 at Montpellier, France. The course is designed for new PhD students or for young researchers who have recently started research in the glass industry. On the first day of the workshop a broad overview of key fundamentals in glass science & technology will be presented. Subsequently, individual days will focus on glass transition; crystallisation & glass surfaces & will cover fundamentals, techniques & applications. The lectures will be presented by 10 world experts from industry & academia. A significant aspect of the workshop will be a series of projects that encourage interactions that help to develop understanding by applying what has been learned to specific issues.
