Icg: Second Workshop For New Researchers In Glass Science And Technology

The ICG is now offering a second summer school entitled: Glass - the fourth state of matter? To take place 26-30 July 2010, at Montpellier. On day one, a broad overview of key fundamentals in glass science & technology will be presented. Subsequently, individual days will focus on: Glass Transition; Crystallisation & Glass Surfaces; & will, in each case, cover fundamentals, techniques & applications. The lectures will be presented by 10 world experts from industry & academia. A significant aspect of the workshop will be a series of projects that encourage interactions with other members of the group & help to develop understanding by applying what has been learned to specific issues. The course is designed for new PhD students or for young scientists who have recently started research in the glass industry. For further information, please contact: j.m.parker@sheffield.ac.uk.
