Nekem, the Hull based container solutions provider, has purchased over 400 glass and plastic moulds for bottles and jars, a large number of closure moulds and, most importantly, the concomitant intellectual property from the administrator of failed bottle manufacturer and supplier IBC. All glass moulds will remain with their original moulders but the plastic tooling will go to designated new moulders FL Plastics in Norwich and Riverside Plastics in Pontypridd. Nekem is a family company, established 43 years ago and its initial business was supplying dispensing chemists with bottles, closures and other packaging materials. With its reputation for friendly and efficient service, expansion for the firm came rapidly and Nekem expanded its range to include a series of total packaging systems for the aromatherapy market.
