Japan's Hoya Corp. ended its latest business year with record consolidated sales and net profits. The company said recently that products related to semiconductors and personal computers fared well. The firm reported group sales of Y201.29bn in the year ending 31 March, up 4% from last year. Net profit jumped 44.4% to Y17.84bn and recurring profit 25.6% to Y33.61bn. The healthy earnings growth led the parent company to increase its annual dividend by 2 yen to 30 yen per share, MD Kenji Ema said. Consolidated sales grew 8% for eyeglass lenses and 4% for electro-optics, including photomasks for semiconductor production.
