Hot End Quality Control

Most faulty containers should be detected at the hot end before the annealing lehr. This gives the machine operator the opportunity to take appropriate action to prevent more damage; his action can therefore be considered as a process control. Futronic has developed two systems for the hot end: the ASDR (Autonomous Stuck & Down Ware Reject) and the DPR1 (Double Parison Reject). The ASDR reject system represents a control system to sort out objects on a conveyor belt and the Double Parison refers to a very particular type of production fault that occurs on IS machines used in some container glass factories where the faulty container is formed from more than one parison.
