Cerberite has announced the launch of two products for the glass container industry. The company says that its C60 material is designed for use on take-out tongs, dead plates & other points at the hot end where arduous conditions are encountered. Like Cerberite C50, the new grade is suitable for temperatures of up to 650 deg C, with the added advantage of greater mechanical strength and durability. Cerberite says that its hot gob feeder is constructed from graphite materials. It can be installed as a direct replacement for conventional equipment using ball bearings, which has a short service life because the lubricants that are vital to its operation rapidly burn off at the ambient temperature of up to 1400 deg C encountered in the furnace. The company also stresses that, because graphite is inherently lubricious, the new feeder does not need additional lubrication.
