Lynch Systems has recently launched the Super HDTV television glass press. It is the largest and fastest press in Lynch's line and it is capable of running glass from 14in to 32in in diagonal at exceptionally high index speeds. Using a dual hydraulic trunnion drive configuration, the units alternate in tandem to index the very large table (4.53m) more than 20 times/min in only 0.8 sec lock-to-lock. Five Vari-flo airformers modulate the volume and velocity of the cooling air received by the glass during a single airformer index. The Vari-flo airformer works on the principal of applying more air at the end of the index than at the beginning, for increased cooling and higher manufacturing speeds.
