Heineken Hails Strong 2016

Heineken has recently reported a near-5% increase in sales for 2016. The brewer said that its 2016 sales rose by 4.8% year-on-year in organic terms. Last year's profits cycled a year in which the company received a one-off profits boost from the US$ 1.3bn sale of Mexican packaging business Empaque to Crown Holdings. CEO Jean-Francois van Boxmeer said: "Performance in key EU markets was good and results in Vietnam and Mexico were strong. In Africa, Middle East and Eastern Europe market conditions remained tough, most notably in Nigeria, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Russia."
