Heineken is to more than double the number of UK pubs it owns after agreeing a deal for punch taverns. The brewer said it will pay £305m for about 1,900 Punch pubs to add to the existing 1,049 outlets in its Star Pubs & Bars unit. "This transaction is a significant step forward in our strategy to unlock value in the UK pub market," said Stefan Orlowski, Heikeken's EU president.
