Hangzhou Saint-Gobain Vitrotex - Fibreglass Capacity Quintupled

Hangzhou Saint-Gobain Vitrotex, an affiliate of Saint-Gobain, is to dramatically increase fibreglass output for Asian markets. A$40M furnace has entered service, boosting capacity nearly five-fold from 8,000/tpy to 38,000/tpy! The expansion is aimed mainly at increasing output of rovings, CS (chopped strand) mats, and other reinforcement (plastic stiffener) products. HSGV is s also trying to achieve quality improvements through closer collaboration with its R& D centre in Japan. Saint-Gobain's Vitrotex fibreglass division has two China locations, in Hangzhou and Beijing, and has plants in South Korea, Thailand and India.
