Kuwaiti glass manufacturer Gulf Glass has signed a deal to supply glass bottles to local bottler the Al-Sayer Soft Drinks Factory, it was announced in December/03. The glass bottles will be supplied in 2004 under a KWD 397,140 agreement. Al-Sayer is part of the diversified Kuwaiti Al-Sayer Group of companies and is the local bottler of Royal Crown, Magic Energy Drink, Maaza juices and ALZA juice drink. Gulf Glass posted a net profit of KWD 572,000 for the first nine months of 2003 (KWD 403,000). The firm was established in 1981 and listed on the Kuwaiti Stock Exchange in 1998. Gulf Glass is to expand its facilities in order to fulfil a new contract to supply glass bottles to Pepsi-Cola Iran, which bottles the US soft drink. The contract is worth KWD 820,690. The firm is also carrying out a KWD 6.0M expansion project.
