Kevin Baird has been named President of the Global Flat Glass Group for Guardian Industries. Mr Baird will assume full profit and loss responsibility of the business unit, and replaces Scott Thomsen, who resigned for health reasons. Mr Barid has been President and CEO of SRG Global, a Guardian company. Since joining the firm in 2008, he strengthened SRG Global's position in major world markets. Scott Thomsen joined Guardian at its Science and Technology Centre in 1999. He was responsible for directing R&D initiatives while playing a role in bringing products to market. Mr Thomsen will continue to work with Guardian on critical initiatives on a consultancy basis. He was previously Group VP, N American flat glass operations, and Chief Technology Officer.
