Lovati Fratelli has developed a CNC automatic shape edge grinding machine type LOV-622-2T-TC. The system consists of two actions, a CNC loading unit and a CNC grinding machine with transfer unit. The CNC loading unit can transfer glass sheets from the vertical plane (pallet) to a horizontal plane. All glass movements are made via a numerical control unit which can memorise different programs, depending on glass dimensions. X, Z and W axes are moved by means of brushless motors and their position is controlled by an individual rotary encoder. A single glass sheet or two small sheets can be loaded during a single machine cycle. The loading unit is complete with a centering table and the glass centering/positioning is accomplished by electrical sensors and a pneumatic cylinder.
