Graphite Mould Casting

With low mould production costs, relatively low per-part costs, and quick turnaround times, Graphicast's "Graphite Mould Casting" process is a low-risk solution for the manufacture of high-precision components. The proess produces castings of ZA-12, a durable zinc-aluminium alloy, at a lower total cost per part than machining or other casting processes for annual production quantities of 200 to 20,000 parts. Graphicast states that it obtains the best possible casting results by using proprietary automated casting machines that fill each mould from the bottom up to minimise the turbulence of molten metal within the mould, thereby greatly reducing porosity. Process controllers simultaneously control fill rate, cycle time and temperature, further maximising the density of the castings. For more information please visit: www.graphicast.com
