Gold leaf tiles, identical to those that adorn temples in Thailand can now be bought in the UK to decorate homes and bathrooms. Thai glass importer, Deemak Ltd, has sown up an exclusive contract to import the tiles which give the effect of solid gold. They are made up from one inch squares of gold leaf sandwiched between two layers of glass and fixed to a fabric mat for ease of installation on either flat or curved surfaces. Deemak MD said: "For centuries these golden tiles could only be found on lavish temples, but now we can source new supplies direct from a specialist manufacturer in Thailand."
