Glaverbel Invests In A New Float Plant In Belgium

In order to make up for a pressing shortage of glass, the Glaverbel Group has confirmed its decision to build a 15th float glass plant. This will expand its production capacity to meet the continuing growth in glass consumption in western and central Europe. The choice for the location has fallen on Belgium, specifically at the Moustier site in the Walloon Region. This will bring the number of float lines at the site to four. By concentrating four float lines on a single site, the Group aims to leverage the benefits of size in terms of production performance and flexibility, and to take advantage of the existing infrastructure to speed up construction of the plant and thus reduce its capital cost.
