Glaverbel Cuts Capacity

Belgian flat glass maker Glaverbel is cutting output by the equivalent of one float plant in response to overcapacity in Europe. As a result of this and price pressure, the firm expects lower profits in 2002. It will reduce the pull of its furnaces and bring forward the repair of some facilities while extending repair times.
