Glassforming Systems On The Basis Of Bapo3F (German)

For the first time it has been possible to produce glasses of a BaPO3F basis and fluorides of elements of the 2nd and 3rd groups. The vitrification takes place in the combinations of with AlF3, MgF2, GAF3, and InF3. In these systems, studies have been made of density, mol volume, refractive index, refraction, resistance to the attack of water and hydrofluoric acid, thermal expansion and viscosity. The structure of the glass is studied by infra-red spectroscopy and electron microscopy.
