Glassfibre Standards Published

The BSI has published two new standards for the testing of textile glass. BS ISO 9163: 1996 specifies two methods for determining the tensile stress at break of an impregnated textile glass roving. The reference method, which also determines the tensile modulus of elasticity of the glass, and the rapid method are both applicable to assembled and direct rovings. BS ISO 9291: 1996 describes the preparation of unidirectional textile glass reinforced plates from which samples for various static mechanical tests can be cut.
