Glass processor, Hansen Glass, has supplied a glass staircase, treads, landings and balustrades for a revamp of the Caesar's Palace restaurant in the centre of Liverpool. Robin Clayton Partnership designed the installation and the work was done by Peter Richards Group. The staircase was a central element of a gradual expansion programme at the restaurant, and links dining areas on two floors. Hansen Glass supplied 100mm tall balustrade sections and a large number of landing sections made from its FortPlus laminated glass. The treads were made from ThermoSpan structural bolted glazing with inserts for connecting to mounting brackets. They were supplied as 31.5mm thick laminates using two 15mm layers of toughened glass separated by a 1.5mm interlayer. An acid-etched Ceraphic screenprint was applied to a density of 10% on the underside of both treads and landings.
