Glass Processing Heat Sources

According to the Italian company, Helios Italquartz Srl, infrared quartz tubing emitters represent the best technology for heat treatment today in the glass industry. The heat needed for various types of glass processing is usually supplied by gas or electricity. Although leading producers of glass think that electrically-produced infrared energy offers a solution to many problems, this cannot be completely true of conventional infrared heaters, says Helios Italquartz, because much of the energy is quite broad banded and is wasted. Helios Italquartz Srl has been involved in the manufacture of quartz infrared emitters (single tube and twin, with and without gold reflectors) for 60 years. Their products are used in the glass industry in the fields of tempering, annealing, mirror processing, bending, coupling with plastic film, screen printing, and so on.
