Through GPI's academic program, the glass container manufacturing industry works with faculty & students at packaging & design schools nationwide to increase their awareness of exciting new developments in glass packaging. In support of this goal, GPI has recently introduced Glass Packaging Essentials: A Multimedia Resourceóa CD-ROM designed as both an instructional toolkit & a window on the world of glass container manufacturing, from concept & design to production. The CD-ROM is the first state-of-the-art resource to enable packaging academics & professionals learn more about the properties, design, technology & marketing of glass containers. Highlights include: Six main organized sections that are color coded & indexed for easy navigation. Nine separate videos, 10 animated graphics & more than 35 web links. A glass container manufacturing plant interactive process flow chart, an online inspection guide and a sampling of glass container catalogs. Glass Packaging Essentials is competitively priced at $20, or $10 for GPI members.
