Glass Packaging Award For Allied'S Sambao Bottle

Allied Glass manufactured a distinctive Sambao "lime wedge-shaped" white flint glass bottle for Diageo for this mid-proof cachaca spirit. Its high shoulders and fine embossing makes it a technically difficult and innovative pack. The bottle is demanding to produce as it combines a complex design and developmental production techniques, which pushes the boundaries of glass manufacturing. The bottle's profile is created using a "non-conventional" mould featuring an undulating staggered joint that runs the entire length of the bottle.
