Glass Flower Shipment Calls For Special Handling Techniques

Harvard University's Botanical Museum loaned 25 of its irreplaceable Blasckja glass models of flowers for a Steuben Glass store exhibition on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. At 25mph, hearses transported them from Harvard to Logan airport, and from LaGuardia to Steuben. Foam rubber supported the boxed specimens within red wood boxes, which sat upon foam rubber mats on the floors of hearses and planes.
