Glass Fibre: Production Increases In Russia

Uralita, the Spanish chemicals and construction materials group, will invest Euros 14M in its fibre glass insulation factory in Serpuchov, Russia, increasing production capacity by 16,000 tonnes to 36,000 tonnes. The new facility is due to start operating in the first half of 2005. The investment is part of the strategic plan for the 2004-2006 period, and will help consolidate Uralita's leadership on the Russian fibre glass insulation market, which has registered annual growth of 30% over the last three years. It will also reduce imports of the product from other Uralita factories in central Europe to Russia. (whole item)
