Gizmo Cap Releases Active Ingredients

Gizmo Packaging (Scotland) has invented a bottle closure that enables consumers to introduce active ingredients at the time of use, preserving freshness. The closure incorporates a miniature pressurised injection-moulded chamber, which holds the active ingredient and protects it from UV light and oxygen exposure. Twisting the cap open triggers the release of the concentrated active ingredient into the bottle. Active ingredients can include colours, flavours, minerals, herbs or concentrates. The company say the system can be applied to a wide range of container shapes and sizes in plastic or glass and is suitable for still or carbonated liquids.
