German packaging specialist, Gerresheimer Glas AG, based in Dusseldorf, announced that it sold its English subsidiary, FBG-Trident Ltd, as of the end of October 2003. The purchaser of the company is Murray Holdings Ltd, London. FBG has 82 employees and annual sales of EUR 6.4M. The company manufactures tubular glass products. Gerresheimer parted ways with FBG in the course of its portfolio rationalisation. The change of owner is beneficial for all parties, said Dr A Herberg, chairman of the Executive Board of Gerresheimer Glas. With the further focus of the Gerresheimer Group on the core segments of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, FBG no longer fits the Groups business strategy. For Murray Holdings, on the other hand, synergy with the existing business is created. (whole item)
