[Germany] Amber Furnace Replacement

The 11-year-old amber glass furnace at Gerresheimer Essen will be replaced in the spring of 2013, the company announced. The Essen site has two furnaces, one for transparent glass and one for amber glass, which supply the production lines with molten glass which is processed into several types of glass containers. The furnace replacement project is scheduled to last six weeks. Over a billion glass containers are manufactured by the Essen site per year.
