Cookson Group plc has completed the acquisition of VGT-DYKO Industriekeramik Vertriebs refractories business from the German engineering company VGT AG. VGT-DYKO will be managed as a subsidiary of the Vesuvius Group, alongside its sister companies in the Vesuvius Ceramics Division, Monofrax Inc and Zedmark SpA. The acquired business has an annual turnover in excess of DM100m and a worldwide customer base. Plants are located in Dusseldorf and Grossalmerode, specialising in the production of refractory products for the glass industry. The company is recognised internationally for its strong application focus and highly engineered product lines which span a wide range of chemical compositions. Vesuvius will combine its existing glass products with the products of VGT-DYKO with the aim of expanding the range and services. (whole item)
