Vidrala, the Spanish glassmaker, is rebuilding furnace number 2 at its factory in Llodio at a cost of Euros 4.5M. The firm recorded a 19% increase in pre-tax profits in the first half of 2003 to Euros 11.5M thanks to an 8% increase in net sales coupled with the effects of cost cuts and production efficiencies.
