Full-Bottle Inspector

A full-bottle inspector (FBI), developed by Krones, is based on a standard Linatronic, supplemented by an image processing system. It detects foreign bodies in filled beverage containers on the bottling line while another inspection module checks that the crown has been correctly printed and detects any skewed crowns. The FBI is also able to accurately execute fill height monitoring and is designed for outputs of up to 50,000 bottles/h. Gaps in the infeed supply of bottles does not affect inspection accuracy, so the system can also be retrofitted into existing lines. The bottles are inspected without physical contact, using a total of 12 high resolution CCD cameras. For foreign body detection, 8 cameras using transmitted light take pictures segment-by-segment, at a flat angle. For more information please fax Krones AG on +49 9401 703496.
