Frosting Plants

German manufacturer, Neutra Kunstoffbau GmbH, designs and produces acid frosting plants for glass finishing. In acid frosting, soluble and insoluble salts are dissolved out of the surface of the glass, thus changing its structure and alterting its finishing. Ready-made mixes of frosting salts are commercially avialble under the name of Lerite, with different formulae for differnt glass types, for example, lead glass - Lerite SX/13, normal and potassium glass - Lerite SX/20, and black glass - Lerite SX/28.
