French Lighting Company Fails

Cristalleries de Vianne has filed for bankruptcy. The company, located near Agen France, employed 293 and specialised in the production of handmade lamp chimney and lighting glass. The difficulties were caused by disputes within the management team, a competitive market and compounded by exchange rate fluctuations. Cristalleries de Vianne was the last French company of its size in this market, with most production now centred in countries with lower labour costs. (whole article)
