Freedonia: Demand For Refractories To Increase More Than 5% Annually Through 2014

Market research firm Freedonia, says that the market for refractory products generally will enjoy strong, steady growth over the next three years, especially in the Asia region and particularly in regard to China. A new study available from Freedonia says demand will grow on average 5.3% each year through to 2014 and eventually will amount to nearly 41M metric tons per year in sales. As far as products go, the 731-page study says monolithics will outperform bricks and shapes. Consumption of refractory products by China and India will be above average, but even US and EU markets are projected to do significantly better than during the period 2004-9.
