It was reported in July 2011 that an agreement has been signed between the glass trade unions of Languedoc, the owner of the factory (Financière de la Croix Blanche) and its successor, the world's number one glass manufacturer, O-I. After eight months of intense negotiations, it will result in 54 voluntary redundancies. Departures, the first (26 employees) will range from the end of the month to mid-August, will take place until the end of November to allow a gradual reorganization of the work of 132 full-time equivalents remain. At the end of the process, at the end of the year, Glassware Languedoc (VDL) will have changed ownership and will be called Owens International Vergèze. This downsizing is associated with the closure of one of four bottle production lines. This agreement, however, although voluntary, leaves a bitter taste to employee representatives as the size of the company has continued to be reduced for the last years, from 550 employees in 2006 to 194 in 2010 and 132 by the end of 2011.
