Forming Machinery Deal Sealed

Emhart (UK) Ltd has won orders worth more than £4m with PLM Redfearn for the complete supply and installation of two Flexline forming systems. The contract is for a 10-section type AIS double gob advanced IS machine and a 16-section type EF 5in double gob machine, which is currently the largest of its type in the UK. Each line also includes the company's 555 servo-feeder system with T600 VLAN forming control systems. The installation is an important part of PLM's £20m investment in the number 3 furnace development at its Barnsley plant. A further 12-section EF 5in double gob machine has been supplied for the number 7 furnace. The two companies have agreed a partnership arrangement for a pro-active maintenance scheme, which aims to ensure that consistently high output is achieved and that downtime caused by component failure is reduced.
