A technical workshop held by the European Forum on New Glass Applications (EFONGA) at the end of 2008 explored the conditioning of glass melts as well as the forming of glass products. The technical workshop was held in Eindhoven, Netherlands by the Forum, bringing together industry experts to discuss the forming and conditioning of glass. Representatives from key suppliers to the glass industry as well as glass manufacturers and research organisations, gathered at the meeting, which looked at ways in which glass melting and conditioning processes could be improved. A keynote speech was presented by Christoph Berndhauser from Schott and Dries Hegen from Dutch supplier TNO, who discussed the modelling of glass forming processes of the ICG TC25 as a platform for benchmarking software capabilities for glass forming.
