A copy of the recently updated version of the Food Standards Agency's "Explanatory note on legislation" governing food contact materials & articles is available to download from: www.food.gov.uk - The note is updated periodically & is designed to provide a general introduction to the European Union (EU) harmonised legislation & its implementation in the UK. It also highlights food contact issues that are currently being discussed at EU level & looks ahead to future issues that are likely to come up. The note is a useful document, which provides details of compliance requirements for industry & where to obtain copies of Regulations, should they be required. Pages 26-29 contain a summary list of the legislation.
