Flow Investigations Of Glass In A Model Tank, Regarding Especially The Throughput Flow. Part 1. Accomplishemnt Of The Experiment And Thermal Effect Of The Batch Surface.

The interaction of convective flow and throughput flow in a model tank was investigated. The convective flow was generated thermally and mechanically by bubbling. The model practice applied was based on data given in the literature and on a treatise by Safaieh. The local flow was detected by the deformation of colour marks. The results made evident that the charging technique and the temperature of the model liquid during the charging are of great importance for the development of the flow; further, that the thermal convection flow patterns which do not overlie, but distinctly influence each other.
